IGGI Symposium 2016

10:00am, Wed 14th September - 4:00pm, Thu 15th September

Goldsmiths, University of London

Our sister-project IGGI, Intelligent Games and Game Intelligence PhD Programme held their annual Symposium in London to celebrate and demonstrate another year of academic excellence within the games environment.

It was a packed 2-day schedule with 4 guest speakers across both days giving their insights into their specialisms: we learned about robot poetry from Narrative Design Consultant, Emily Short amongst many other interesting facts.

Students from the first IGGI cohorts gave in depth presentations on their projects, followed by the highlight of the Symposium; Lightening Talks - 29 minutes; 29 students; 29 projects.  It was a highly energetic and engaging half hour.  The students then followed up all questions and gave demonstrations at their posters during the networking reception.

We were delighted that the new students for 2016-17 were introduced to us and the broad scope of their projects shows us it's going to be another thrilling year for IGGI at York, Essex and Goldsmiths.  Check out IGGI's Twitter feed for the running commentary on the Symposium's highlights @iggiphd
