My research uses experiments to investigate how different game designs create different experiences for people. During my PhD I investigated how different game designs work to hold and focus players’ attention and I also measured how much cognitive effort they were putting into playing those games.
Before starting my PhD I spent many years creating digital exhibits for museums, including working for the Science Museum in London.
At DC labs I will be investigating how games create interest and curiosity and considering how these insights can be applied to game playing AI agents.
