Dr Victoria Hodge

Associate
Computer Science
University of York

Victoria's background is in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and data analytics. After completing a PhD in Information Retrieval using Neural Networks at the University of York, Victoria has worked on a broad range of research projects. She has applied her knowledge of AI, machine learning and data analytics to benefit fraud detection, decision support for road traffic analytics, anomaly detection in wireless sensor networks and a web-based portal for users to run compute-intensive research.

Victoria has worked in industry as a software developer to develop a Big Data architecture and visualisation framework for scientific workflows.

Victoria recently worked on the NEMOG project to understand the current state of the digital games industry and to conduct research into game data analytics and business models for digital games.  She investigated the issues around gathering games data, and developing new algorithms to mine the data to provide opportunities for creating better games, societal impact and scientific research.
