Claire Boardman

Claire is a PhD Researcher in Digital & Applied Heritage, supported by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) via Digital Creativity Labs.

Prior to commencing her PhD, Claire completed an MSc in Digital Heritage/Archaeology (York) via an Arts & Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Studentship offered via the White Rose College of Arts and Humanities (WRoCAH). Her dissertation critically revisited archaeological predictive modelling in the ‘Big Data’ era. 

Claire's research is practice-focused, action-based and diverse although she often returns to considering human-environment relationships. With a focus on archaeoinformatics, historic urban landscape management, digital urbanism and SMART heritage, Claire's research is multidisciplinary.

Before returning to higher education, Claire pursued a successful portfolio career; building on her original education in data/information science and systems - this expanded into organisational analysis and design and digital transformation.

Claire owns and manages two small enterprises and currently serves as a Trustee for two regional social charities (England and Scotland), aligned with natural and cultural heritage and focused on inclusivity, personal learning and development.
