Jo is a Lecturer in Human Computer Interaction in the Department of Computer Science. She completed a PhD at the Institute of Educational Technology, Open University, and was a post-doctoral researcher at the UCL Interaction Centre.
She has published extensively in the area of games and HCI, from understanding the role of learning within the player experience, to using games to introduce clinicians to resilient healthcare principles. Jo has also investigated uncomfortable player experiences, how reflection results from gameplay, and the influence of games on wellbeing.
