Emma Marsden has published widely on research into grammar and vocabulary learning and teaching, as well as on more recent investigations into motivation and Modern Foreign Language (MFL) uptake in UK secondary schools.
Emma has twenty years of experience teaching and researching language learning in Spain, Chile, France and the UK. She has utilised her expertise to design and deliver numerous professional development workshops for teachers and trainees.
Emma has advised on numerous government groups and in January 2015 became an Associate Editor of the journal Language Learning. She is director of IRIS, an large international repository of materials for researching language learning.
Emma leads the Gaming Grammar project, and uses her wealth of educational expertise to develop digital media with schools and industry partners to help children learn foreign languages.
